Nokia Lumia 630 is a mid rage Windows 8.1 running Smartphone which was released recently in May 2014. This Smartphone has got a durable compact style and attractive features at affordable price mostly suiting Indian market. Currently it is available at price range of Rs 9000. It has so far proved to be fruitful for Nokia with such price has undergone good sales. It’s the most recommended budget windows phone showed off by majority of retailers. It houses a 4.5inch LCD display enhanced by Nokia clear Black technology and this display is provided with protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Truecaller Android App

A good amount of internal storage i.e. 8GB is present which is also expandable up to 128GB via SD card. A 5MP front camera is present with auto focus however it’s devoid of LED flash and front shooter. It operates on a Quad core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz of speed which is pretty enough for Nokia Smartphone to boast up it’s performance. This processor is coupled with a 512MB RAM which is fitted according to the suited price and processor configuration. And RAM hardly matters when it comes to performance by Nokia Smartphone’s. Over all look of this Smartphone says it is the best buy windows Smartphone at this price and has gone for high sales but suddenly people while exploring this Smartphone came to know that it is having issues related to running True caller.

True caller is currently the world’s largest online phone directory and no one can imagine their 9k Smartphone coming without True caller. It’s everybody’s need and this was the most disappointing feature of this Smartphone. Microsoft also need to know that their present True caller application is too old featured devoid of auto searching caller ID and most of the essential features. Even this poorly developed True caller hasn’t made available for Lumia 630 yet due to some unknown reasons. If we think the reason is 512MB RAM but we will be wrong. For Windows Smartphone, True caller merely works as a caller ID finder and we manually have to do everything which means it won’t cause more RAM eat up since it has nothing much to do on back ground. The issue is no critical and Microsoft needs to develop better True caller application for all windows Smartphone’s and has to make it available for Lumia 630 also. They will have to understand the current need in this biosphere of technology just like Google recognised the need and developed True caller even for their wearable. In short, Nokia has to take this step as soon as possible to ensure smooth running of True caller on Lumia 630.

Today the entire mobile world is ruled by smartphones. The earlier feature phones have now become a thing of the past and touch is the new in. 98% of the global phone manufacturing id dominated by smartphones and touchscreen phones. So you know how much they are in demand. Even now most of you must be having a smartphone which you all are using. These smartphones run on various operating systems (OS) which have also come a long way since the first touchscreen phone.

Currently the market is ruled by three OS namely Android which is the most dominant of all. Second is iOS from Apple and third Windows Phone 8 from Microsoft. All three OS have their own advantages and disadvantages and this is exactly what we are going to see as to the advantages and disadvantages of Android, iOS and Windows Phone 8.

Android 4.4 Kit Kat

Advantages: Android has like way too many advantages. Well, every OS has, but with Android there is just so much you can do. First of all is the huge App base of the OS which has the highest number of apps available and that too most of them are free of cost. So that is amazing. Secondly there are so many customization options like making different custom home screens and placing the apps on the different home screens as per your liking also being able to move. Plus Android is a lot sophisticated, colourful, graphics with animations and hence is very pleasing to the eye. But the biggest advantage of Android is that it is open source software. So many developers have come up with their own versions of Android which you can install by simply rooting your Android devices which is not possible on any other OS. Plus since the OS is free, many low cost devices are now available running Android.

Disadvantages: As such there are not much disadvantages to Android, but the biggest one is the requirement of high specs to run Android devices. Android is a very detailed OS which needs a huge memory for storage and lots of RAM for smooth functioning. Hence devices with low specs do not function as fluently and hence it becomes a lot tedious. Also Android lacks some creativity where all the updates come on the notification panel which is the same since the first version. So something new is expected now.

iOS 7

Advantages: This is an amazing fast, light and zippy OS and you will rarely encounter any lags in this device. This OS is exclusive only for Apple products and hence cannot be found on any other devices. It also has a very large App base with almost all the popular titles present here. Plus multitasking on this phone is a breeze and it is very smooth and does not require very powerful specs to run smoothly. Its latest version, the iOS 7 has now more colours to it and provides a much better interface and aesthetic appeal to it. Then there is also the voice service exclusive to iOS called “Siri”.

Disadvantages: This is actually a huge problem with iOS and that is exclusivity. This OS does not support Plug & Play feature, so for any content or data transfer you need iTunes. Secondly the newest iOS 7 has got most of the features similar to Android, so again no originality. And finally the device does not require huge powerful specs but yet these devices cost way more than Android or Windows phones having better specs which is a huge issue.

Windows Phone 8:

Windows Phone 8

Advantages: The main advantage of Windows Phone 8 is the fresh and new look of the OS. This OS is one really unique and original OS with a complete new idea and framework for a fresh outlook for mobiles. The unique concept of live tiles which show their notifications on them itself is amazing so there is no need for a notification panel specifically for it. Any app can be easily pinned to the Homescreen as a live tile thus allowing for quicker access. Also you can change the sizes of live tiles and hence control how much information you want displayed on them. The user interface is lively and simple. Plus Microsoft does not allow for any tweaks by manufacturers, hence the same feel of the OS is present on the cheapest to the most expensive Windows Phone 8 devices so will never be missing out on anything.

Disadvantages: The disadvantages of the OS are actually a matter of time until they are polished off since this OS is a newest in the market. It will be only a matter of time till it establishes as a wonderful OS and all the latest and popular titles come to the App Store. Still one small disadvantage is the absence of greater personalization and greater variety of colours, the colours are present but are still less. Also it is a paid OS and not open source, so that’s why the cost of the devices is also a bit high and the Apps are hard to come by since it is not open source software.

We checked out the advantages and disadvantages of the top 3 OS in the mobile market right now and it is very clear that Android is the undisputed champion among the three and iOS enjoys its exclusivity but it will only be a matter of time until Windows Phone 8 with its fresh look might come up and surprise both of them as it has already started to make inroads to the market, especially Android’s share. Do comment down below what you feel about these 3 OS and which one will you prefer buying among the three.

A curvy body, small screen, yet a dual core processor and 512 MB RAM plus adding to it a 5 MP camera with flash and a VGA front facing camera adds to the great touch of the device. We have rounded up the best Windows Phone 8 devices under the price bracket of INR 15,000/- and all the three devices are pretty amazing and evenly matched at their own price point, though the HTC is a tad too costly for what it is offering because of which Nokia always wins the race by miles and will always continue doing so unless it gets some stiff competition from outside. But we don’t mind until we are getting some amazing devices powered by Windows Phone 8 at such a low cost. So feel free to comment below as to what you think is the best device among the top three and should companies come out with more higher end or a mid-range or budget Windows Phone 8.

Windows Phone 8 is a growing operating system and is has captured quite some market share in its short duration of presence. And most of the credit for it goes to the budget smartphone running on Windows Phone 8 and that is the Nokia Lumia 520. Available at a very cheap cost and some good enough specs, the 520 has become an international hit and many people own it. Its app base is still growing and is currently the fastest growing app store ever. Being a new eco system, not many people are aware of it yet and so the current users don’t really have an idea as to which apps to install in their phone. Hence we are compiling a list of 10 apps that you must install on your Lumia 520 so that you can have a wonderful smartphone experience and also not miss Android much.

Nokia Lumia 520

1. 6tag: Instagram for windows has still not arrived and we all need Instagram to share images. So what if there is no Instagram, we have a similar app completely loaded with all the features and functions of Instagram and works seamlessly as an Instagram app. So even with a Windows Phone, you sure won’t be missing out on your Instagram action. Yay!

2. Facebook: Though Windows Phone 8 has a built in people’s hub where you can link in your social networking, still to check out on photos and videos and some more Facebook applications, you will need to actually access Facebook manually. So for that a Facebook app is now available which is exactly similar to the Android and iOS app. So now no more missing out on your favourite updates from your friends and family as well as the game requests. Happy Candy Crushing!

3. Twitter: Even though Twitter is integrated in the people’s hub, still you do need to actually access it to get the feel and experience of using Twitter. So for that the official Twitter app is something that you need for the full Twitter experience on your phone. Follow or unfollow anyone or search for your favourite pals, check their tweets, reply to them or retweet, or share your own tweets, whatever you want. Enjoy the fun of social networking wherever you go.

4. Whatsapp: This is the most used instant messenger service in the entire world with recently it was even released by Whatsapp that they have recorded over 1 billion messages exchanged in a day. This is because it is absolutely free and you can send unlimited messages, images, videos, songs, etc. though it is free for only one year and later you have to pay 55 INR per year, still considering how useful it is, you will happily accept to pay it. The best advantage of this is that, it works on the basis of your phone number and is a cross-platform app. So that means it works on almost every phone so all your friends use it and also it works seamlessly internationally as well. So using this you can also contact your friends out of the country as well for free. Hence it is being pegged as SMS killer.

5. Accuweather: This is a renowned weather app that tells you the current weather and also the forecasts pretty accurately. You can easily reply on it to provide the current temperature of your area and also how the weather forecast is going to be on an hourly basis. So you can check the app out and then plan if you need to carry an umbrella or a coat depending on the weather conditions.

6. Smartshoot: This is an amazing camera app by Nokia. It is a Nokia exclusive app; in this the app takes 5 images at a time. Then you can choose to remove the elements you want or change faces of people among the 5 images that are captured and then by that you can have the perfect group shot every single time. This is a very amazing app considering how Nokia phones have some really amazing camera.

7. Skype: This is a great app for free video calls and voice calls over the internet. Though for the Lumia 520 it won’t be of much use since it does not have a front facing camera, but voice calls are very much possible. This is pretty useful when you have a fast internet connection over Wi-Fi or 3G and do not want to spend your main account balance. So it is another great app considering Skype’s tried and tested quality levels.

8. Netflix: If you love to watch some great movies on the move then you will love this app. In this app you can select any movie that you want to watch for free from a huge selection available in their database. All you need is an internet connection and you can stream high definition movies right onto your device. There are some other movies too which are paid, but surely the free movies can too work just fine for you. You also get the option of subtitles and many more features as well.

9. Transfer My Data: This app is actually more useful than people give it credit for. For instance when you buy a new Lumia, then with this app you can connect to your previous device via Bluetooth and get all your precious data like contacts and messages into your new phone easily in no time. Also you can use this app to transfer your content into your phone from SD cards as well.

10. Zomato: This app is like your local scout who tells you everything about that is in and around your area. So if you happen to be in an unknown location and suddenly your stomach starts rumbling, then you can use this app and search for places to eat and also check out which is the best, what it offers, what are its rating, the cost and also the menu as well. You can also share your review on experience of the place on the app for others to refer to.
We checked out 10 apps that you must install on your Lumia 520. Do note that Lumia 520 is the most basic Windows phone with the smallest specs being an entry level device. Hence all the apps mentioned above will also run on all the other midrange and top range Lumia devices as well and also other Windows phones. Being a new OS, Windows Phone 8 is developing gradually and let us hope that it does soon so that we can have another great option to Android to have a versatile smartphone experience.

Nokia has the knack of making some really beautiful phones. The shapes, the colours it is all so amazingly made that they sure do know how to catch eyeballs with their product. Now with the touchscreen phones, the design does not have much scope to tinker about with, but they make that up with amazing colours and superbly built phones with great quality materials. The phone under review today, the Nokia Lumia 625 is one such beauty which is a grade up from its smaller brother the 620.

Design and Looks:
Nokia has used the multi-coloured polycarbonate casings to its complete advantage by giving its phones an awesome look and feel. This stands true even for the Nokia Lumia 625. The little difference here is that being a larger phone, they have given it a translucent back cover. What this does is that it gives the phone the stretched look which shows that it is the big brother or rather the grown version of the Lumia 620. Its build is pretty sturdy as is always the case with Nokia. It has the regular windows phone capacitive buttons on the bottom of the screen and the volume rocker, power/lock screen button and dedicated camera button on the right. It has got a removable back panel which can be changed to whichever color you want.

Nokia Lumia 625

The phone sports a huge 4.7” IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, which is the biggest in the Lumia Range till date. It has the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and has a resolution of 800×480 pixels at 199 ppi. This might sound a bit less compared to other phones available nowadays, but for windows phone this does not look less, the text is also pretty clear and does not look distorted at all.

On the hardware front, this phone has a heart of 1.2 GHz Dual Core Snapdragon Krait processor coupled with Adreno 305 GPU which is capable of handing the graphics perfectly. The specs might seem less, but Windows Phone OS is pretty light and does not require much high end specs to run it smoothly. Even with this spec, the phone works seamlessly without any lags.

Operating System:
The phone runs on the Windows Phone 8 OS out of the box and is upgradeable to Amber over the air. This is a very light, smooth and a zippy OS with no complications and simple working. Its live tiles are an amazing concept where you can pin all your required apps on the Home screen and it also provides with notifications on the tile itself of that app. Since the OS is a bit new, hence the app store is still developing and it has almost 200,000 apps in it and in time it well develop to match Android and iOS.

Storage capacity and Main memory:
The 625 has 512 MB of RAM which is a bit of a letdown considering even the 620 had the same amount and 625 is an upgrade to it. Also it has 8GB of inbuilt memory and also has an expandable memory card slot up to 64 GB which is a good thing.

The primary camera on the phone is a 5MP one, but it functions better than all the other 5MP cameras out there in the market. It is capable of some amazing photos as well as Full HD 1080p videos. Its primary camera is a VGA camera which allows for video calls with VGA quality.

Though the Windows Phone 8 OS has its limitations on the App Store, but they make it up by providing some awesome features and apps out of the box. Nokia’s mapping services, the HERE Maps and HERE Drive are present. Also the various camera lenses like Cinemagraph, Smart Shoot, PhotoBeamer, Nokia Smart Camera, etc. are present to provide the best camera experience. Also the phone comes with LTE connectivity which means faster internet connection and better surfing experience.

We reviewed the Nokia Lumia 625 on all the parameters and have come to a conclusion about the phone. If you are looking for a mid-range phone with LTE connectivity, then this is the phone for you with its big screen if you are ready to compromise a bit with the camera. But other than that, this is a lovely phone to use with it being available in a range of amazing colours; it is like beauty comes to you.

The Nokia Lumia series is covering good lost ground that Nokia lost during the initial smartphone surge. The phone looks quiet thicker as compare to the other Smartphones available right now but then also the is very handy. The backpanel of the phone is quiet similar to other Lumia Devices with rounded edges. Nokia Lumia 882 comes with three back covers White, Black and Grey. You will find the plastic shell as shiny and slick but when you hold this device in your hand then that gives you solid feel. PC Suite, Zune and Drivers are available to download on this page.
