At this period in time, more and more mobile handset models are being released into the market every now and them. These models might be new models or upgraded versions of the previous models that had been released for quite a while ago. New handset models released later might be better than the previous ones but there are others that are even inferior in some aspects. Here, let’s talk about waiting for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to be available in the market or just buy the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that is released in the first quarter of this year. What would be better? Let’s find out.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7

Comparison between Samsung Galaxy Note 7 or buy S7 Edge

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge was released last March 2016 and been in the market for months now while the newer model, the Note 7 was just announced this August and is expected to be released the following month.

S7 Edge with the dimensions 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7 mm while the yet to be released Note 7 is relatively bigger with 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9 mm dimensions. The bigger build meant bigger larger display making Note 7 a .2-inch larger display than S7 Edge. Moreover, like the previous Note models, Note 7 comes with the improved S Pen which the S-series doesn’t have. The shape of both models have curved edges for better grip but with the difference being the sides of the Note 7 had a flat middle, each model might be better depending on the hand of the customer.

The physical structure of the cameras of both model might be the same, both having 12MP Dual Pixel Sensor with brighter F1.7 lens 1.4µm pixels. What varies is the options that comes within the phone. While the S7 Edge boasts its Hyperlapse, Motion Panorama and Selfie Options, the Note 7 focuses on professional photos, focus settings and slow motion.

Most mobile phones boast their capacity in terms of high definition gaming and that is the same for both S7 Edge and Note 7 having Vulcan API giving the best performance and quality gaming. But here, the S7 Edge had advantage with its own game launcher and tools that can be used for better gaming experience.

Both run with Android OS, v6.0 (Marshmallow) but Note 7 is planned to be upgraded to v7.0 (Nougat). Even though there in a Quad Core Model of S7 Edge, the other model and Note 7 both has Exynos 8890 Octa chipset and Quad-core 2.3 GHz Mongoose + quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. The GPU is also the same both having Mali-T880 MP12.

Both Models, S7 Edge and Note 7 can support up to 256GB microSD along with 64GB Internal Storage capacity. But with Note 7 having an external sim tray that can be used for both sim and MicroSD which can be replaced anytime without turning off the handset.

Both handset models are high in performance but what is better. That can only be answered depending to the needs of the customer. If the need is for faster and higher performance, going to Note 7 might be a good idea as it is still bound to changes before and during the time it will be released to the market. For gaming and more compact and personal preferences, the older and slimmer S7 Edge might come handier as it having tools for games and personal camera options. Still, as it is unreleased, Note 7 might overcome these features too so it must be noted. But even though, we won’t know it Note 7 would get any slimmer than this.

The choice is still in the consumer’s hands though so we are just here to help decide.

Samsung is known to dash out some amazing high end phones, and its current flagship Phablet is another testament to it. With killer specs, this Phablet is a true powerhouse. But that is not all as Samsung had packed it full with amazing features which we are going to cover in this review of the phone. If it is the Phablet to go to or does it falter somewhere, let’s find out in the review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Design and Looks:
Samsung finally seems to have come to their senses when they got rid of the cheap looking plastic back body and decided on the false leather back with the fake stitching design along its border. This gives the Phablet a whole new look and feel to it. Else you would always feel like holding the same phone; then be it the Grand or S4. Though Samsung still has kept the front look of the home button and 2 capacitive buttons on either side of it. It has the camera on the back, the volume rocker on the left and the power button on the right. It weighs in at 168 g which is way lighter than its previous Note 2, also considering that this is a bigger sized phone, it’s quite impressive.

Finally the Note Series got a 1080p Full HD Super AMOLED display. It is on a 5.7” display which is again 0.2” bigger than the Note 2. It has the Gorilla Glass protection and also comes with a super sensitive touch option which allows you to use it with gloves on. Also it is compatible with its S-Pen Stylus which comes with the phone.

The phone comes in multiple variants that is in a 2.3 GHz Quad Core Krait 400 processor with Snapdragon 800 chipset or Quad core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A15 & Quad core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 combined Octa core processor with the Samsung Exynos chipset. This is coupled to the Adreno 330 GPU for the Snapdragon variant and Mali-T628 MP6 GPU for the Exynos variant. This shows what a great powerhouse is this device and is capable of handling heavy apps, multitasking, etc. with perfect ease.

Operating System:
The Phablet runs on Android 4.3 JellyBean with the Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI overlay. It also is capable for the Android 4.4 KitKat update which it will get soon when KitKat launches and Samsung customizes and pushes it to the device. Also Android’s app base we all know about which is completely loaded.

Storage capacity and Main memory:
The Phablet has 3 GB of RAM and comes in 16/32/64 GB internal storage options. Add to that an expandable memory card slot capable up to 64 GB and you can be 100% sure that whatever happens, you will never fall short of storage space.

The camera on the phone is the best camera second to only the Lumia 1020’s 41 MP snapper. It has a 13 MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization and can shoot Ultra HD videos of 2160p at 30 fps and 1080p HD videos at 60 fps. You won’t be able to find a phone capable to do this anytime soon. Its camera is completely loaded with features with many-many settings to get the perfect shot you need. It can also take good low light images but still not as great as the Lumia. It has a 2MP front camera capable of 1080p videos at 30 fps for HD video calling and self-shots which are very widely used these days.

When it comes to the features of the flagship Samsung Galaxy series of phones, you just cannot even count them on your fingers. So let’s check out the best ones of them. It has the usual Air View, Smart Scroll, etc. from the Galaxy S4. Also some new features in this is the multi-window feature where you can divide the screen into two and run two different applications at the same time simultaneously. There is also the App in App feature where if you are using an app, you can pause that and open another app inside it like maybe the calendar app or calculator app. When you are using the stylus, then there are other various menus that open up with which you can open the app by just drawing a square box around its launcher in the menu. Also when you are browsing, you can select the required area by drawing a square around it and then copying it, make necessary changes and save it. Also it has got the Dropbox integration which allows you to save your work on the cloud as well.

We reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on the basis of various parameters and we have reached a conclusion. This is an amazing Phablet with the best ever specs running under it till date. With its large Full HD display, amazing battery life and the myriad of Samsung features and also the Stylus support make the Phablet worth its while. It has both business as well as personal applications and with the Android OS running on it, you will never be short of any entertainment thanks to the Google Play App store. It does cost a bit steep, but if you are that loaded, then there is actually no harm in going for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Hardware is moderately loaded with Dual-core 1.7GHz and Snapdragon 400 chipset; 1.5GB of RAM, 3200 Li-ion mAh (replaceable) battery and has a 1.9 MP front camera ; decent for video calling. Its primary 8MP camera with auto-focus; will be best used with its wide screen. It also has LED(1EA)flash for low-light filming.
