The Huawei Co-operation the largest telecommunication makers in the world since 2012 came out with their latest phone called Ascend P6. The phone is one of the slimmest phones out there in market in fact it’s easily in the top 10 phones when it comes to being slim. The phone is packed with some really good features but lacks LTE support seems like a decision by the manufactures to conserve battery life.

The phone is powered by Huawei home grown chipset called as K3V2 A9MP4, it’s a quad-core processor powered at 1.5 GHZ the gpu is powered by Vivante GPU it’s the same combination used by Huawei for their few models like Ascend D1 and Mate. (For the curious mind the chipset K3V2, it is made up of 4 ARM Cortex A9 CPUs clocked at up to 1.5 GHz for one core, 1.2 GHz for the remaining , 16 core Vivante GPU, 2×32 LPDDR2 memory interfaces, all squeezed on 40nm process — ). The P6 runs on 2 GB Ram and it weighs in at 120 grams, the manufactures have ensured the build quality is solid and it’s a decent one to hold on to.

The display type is a capacitive touchscreen a standard in most smart phones, the Ascend has a 4.7 inch display ergonomics wise near about ideal for most one hand use. The twist lies in the resolution which is at 720p x 1280 pat 312 ppi , this may seem a bit odd in the lieu of phone that have 1080p resolution. The phone runs of Android Operation system version 4.2.2 or Jelly Bean and have Huawei own custom skin running. The P6 has 8 GB of internal memory along with a micro SD expansion slot which takes care of all your space requirements.

The camera or the shooter as it is commonly referred to is of 8 MP, 3264×2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash which is able to record at 1080p at 30 fps. The P6 has a front facing 5 Mp camera making it ideal for Skype or video chats (selfies look better now :P).

The phone has dual SIM support (yeah ) using Micro-sim and has dual stand by. The 3.5 mm jack has a Dolby Digital Plus for all audiophiles who need the extra punch. The P6 comes with a host of standard features like Bluetooth version 3.0 with A2Dp and LE , Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, hotspot , GPS. The whole is nicely packaged but with a 2000 m Ah battery it raises a question whether it may run for 8 hours or less, something that we shall keep an eye out for.

Overall, the P6 Ascend is light, slim and zippy. With a good price point it will surely give decent completion for phones out there in the same category.
