We love a good triple threat. There are not many that generally come our way that we can compare similar phones but when some turn up, we make sure not to leave the opportunity to check out which one is he most superior among the three. Today for the triple threat, we have the Samsung Galaxy Core Advance, the HTC One Mini and the Motorola Moto G. The main common point among these devices is that they are all powered by the Snapdragon 400 processor under the hood. So this is going to be a very interesting comparison. So lets get to it without any further ado.

Galaxy Core Advance Vs One mini Vs Moto G

Body & Design:

When we look at all the three devices, the main thing that stands out among all the devices is the design concept. All the three devices look exactly the typical types of how the other devices of their respective OEMs look. The Samsung has its typical (which has now become very boring and not so good looking) design with the three buttons down below the screen which Samsung actually has now converted from capacitive buttons to actual pressing buttons as a way of cost deduction maybe. The HTC One Mini on the other hand has the same design as the HTC One, the metallic body, frontal speakers and the works. The Motorola Moto G though has a Nexus style design with no physical buttons but everything is onscreen including the home, back and navigation button.

The display on the devices is not the best available in the market but for the price, they are pretty decent. The Samsung Galaxy Core Advance comes with a big 4.7” TFT display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels at 199 ppi which is actually very less considering that there are devices already present in the market with HD displays available at much cheaper rates. So display wise the core advance is a huge disappointment. The HTC One Mini has a 4.3” Super LCD2 display with a resolution of 720 x 1080 at 342 ppi. That is a really good screen and the pixel density of over 300 for a sub 4.5” display means an almost Full HD type clarity. The Motorola Moto G has a 4.5” IPS LCD display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels at 326 ppi. This is also really awesome since a phone with an HD display and a big enough screen available at such a low cost. Who could say no to that.

Samsung Galaxy Core Advance

On the hardware front all the three devices fall in the lower mid an upper mid range segment and so the hardware is not the top of the line but is good enough to handle considerable amount of tasks and multitasking that might be put upon it. The chipsets under the hood of all the three devices is the Snapdragon 400 with Quad core 1.2 GHz Cortex A7 on the Moto G, Dual Core 1.4 GHz on the HTC One Mini and a Dual Core 1.2 GHz on the Samsung Galaxy Core Advance. All these are coupled with an Adreno 305 GPU for handling the graphics which is pretty cool.

Memory & RAM:

On the memory front, the phones are pretty loaded, since they do not come with expandable storage options. The Moto G and the HTC One Mini come in 16 GB versions while the Moto G is available in a 8 GB Version as well. The Samsung Galaxy Core Advance though comes with 8 GB of on board storage as well as an expansion slot of upto 64 GB. As for the RAM, all the devices come with decent 1 GB of RAM. Since the devices are currently running Android JellyBean and will be further upgraded to KitKat, the RAM provided on the devices is pretty optimum considering the price point and the functionality as well.

HTC One Mini

As for the snappers, the Moto G and the Samsung Galaxy Core Advance come with 5 MP on the back which captures some decent photographs but still is not as good compared with the equivalent quality of the Nokia family. But still the colour reproduction and the overall imaging quality is pretty decent and for the price point is it quite passable. The HTC One mini though has the flagship HTC 4 MP Ultrapixel camera which claims to capture some stunning pictures using the new technology and is also capable of videos of Full HD 1080p resolution which is really nice. But since it does come into the upper mid-range, it is only fair. We have always been complaining about HTC pricing it phones really high making it not that much of a value for money product.

All the three devices are running the Android 4.3 JellyBean version and the good news is that, wait, there is no good news yet for HTC and Samsung but the Moto G has been guaranteed to get Android 4.4 KitKat update. Now that is so cool. But for the HTC One Mini and the Samsung Galaxy Core Advance, since they are the new phones, there is a good chance that the OEMs will pass on the Android 4.4 KitKat update soon since first it goes through a huge process of getting an overlay above the actual Android layer, so it takes a lot of time for the update to come and till then it is like so very late.

Motorola Moto G

Now coming to an important aspect which has become like just so much important in today’s day, the battery life. The HTC One mini sports the smallest battery of the three at just 1800 mAh which they claim to be lasting for 13 hours on 3G, but we know how long the phones really last. On the other hand the Moto G has a 2070 mAh battery, which can last you a day easy with medium usage, while the Samsung Galaxy Core Advance has a 2000 mAh which you can squeeze a day easy with some battery management. So overall, they are pretty good ones in the power backup criteria.

So overall out comparison of the three Snapdragon 400 totting phones, the HTC One Mini, Samsung Galaxy Core Advance and Moto G we sure do have a clear winner. Considering all the aspects of all the devices, we come to a conclusion that the Motorola Moto G comes in the first place with its HD display, big battery and the works. Only thing missing is the expandable storage, but the Android 4.4 KitKat guarantee kind of covers it off. The Galaxy Core Advance comes in at second because of the typical monotonous Samsung design and the TouchWiz UI with not those amazing specs. The HTC One comes in last due to the low specs and the overpricing. Though it comes with a metal body and the amazing dual speakers but still that is not enough to cut it.

HTC was managed a gigantic blow today after a court decided that the HTC One Mini infringed one of Nokia’s patents and shouldn’t be sold in the UK. From December sixth, the Taiwanese mobile phone producer will successfully banned from stocking the handset in the UK. Nokia asked for an order on October 30 over European Patent number 0998024, which professedly blanket a wide number of HTC handsets that utilization Broadcom BCM4239, BCM4330, BCM4334, and Qualcomm WR1605 chips.
The court concurred that some, however not the sum of these chips infringeed the patents. Influenced devicees incorporate the HTC One, One Mini, One Max, HTC 8s and Desire 601. HTC contended that it might be cataclysmic in the event that it could no more offer the HTC One, its leader Android handset in the UK. The court acknowledged that a deals square might make HTC helpless between now and March one year from now, when it will reveal a successor to the HTC One, and has given the organization until December 6 to offer its choice.

HTC One Mini

HTC planned and started it during an era when HTC knew it was confronting a case for infringement of the Patent. In short, the HTC One Mini was considered a period when HTC knew it was supposedly infringeing Nokia’s patents. This makes it a significantly more harming device than the more senior HTC One, which will be successfully ended one year from now. While the offer is pending, Bloomberg reports that HTC has consented to stop imports of the claimed items into the UK. In the event that HTC can’t win its bid – if it decide to submit one – its conceivable that a bigger number of devices will be vanishing from store.

Nokia had recently won a directive that implied HTC needed to modify its receiver inside the One, however this is a critical above and beyond. We’ve reached HTC and have been told that it will have more data to impart to us in the nearing hours, so stay tuned. We’ll upgrade when we hear more.
