LG Google Nexus 5

LG Google Nexus 5 is a worldwide success and is being purchased all around the world the complaints are coming from all around the world regarding certain performance problems. The users complaining that on an on-going call, the cell phone might hang up and then suddenly would turn off by itself, this same happens at many other times like while playing a game the cell phone might hang up and just turn to dead, total turn off and then the cell phone won’t even turn back on. The users are complaining that the cell phone won’t turn on at times even after pressing power button for long time and they need to repeat the same for many times and then the cell phone would start. Even users are complaining that even when phone is fully charged and they try to turn it on it won’t turn on. Users are claiming that they have noticed plenty of battery on their LG Google Nexus 5 and the cell suddenly would get turn off and when they try to on it back on it won’t turn on and when the plug the cell phone on charging, it won’t even start charging. Many users are complaining regarding this type of problems on Google forums too. Users are facing problems like suddenly the screen would go black or dead and then the cell phone requires reboot but sometimes what’s really happening is that your phone is actually on and it’s functioning

behind the back screen but we can’t see a thing so we can’t do a thing you can even check this by trying to call from other cell phone.

Following are the certain solution to all this problems:-

1. IF your cell phone is dead one of the easiest thing is to do is try restarting your cell phone. IF it does not work remove the battery from your cell phone wait for few minutes put it back and then again try restarting your cell phone.

2. For black screen and again and again hang up you can do is manually reset your phone. TO do this go to settings –> Backup and reset, and make sure you have clicked on the option to gain backup of your data to Google so you can automatically restore the data when you log in to again with your Google account, many of your applications should automatically get re install, along with their data.

3. To charge a dead cell phone follow this steps-

A. Plug in your dead LG Google Nexus 5 to your wall charger and then immediately after plugging it in press Volume Down key and Power key at the same time.

B. You would enter in Boot loader menu and then press the Volume down key until it shows “Power off Device.”

C. Now your cell phone would turn off, unplug the charger and then again plug it back on your cell phone. Now you would see the battery meter display on your cell phone with your cell phone returning back to life.

4. Check out your power button because if it’s loose the phone gets turned off automatically with a slight push.

5. Sometimes the problem can be hardware related like a loose battery and so connection is not made so check out your cell phone battery properly.

6. Problem of automatic reboot is usually due to over usage which makes your cell phone very hot. So the solution here is let your phone cool down at times and you won’t face this problem anymore.

LG Google Nexus 5 is having this types of complains from its users recently and if you too are facing the same try the above tricks and may be your problems would be solved. And if still I does not I suggest you to go to your nearest service centre and get it solves as soon as possible.

Google recently released a new Nexus model, the LG Google Nexus 5 with amazing killer specs, the new Android 4.4 KitKat and a better camera. The main attraction of the phone is that it has the best in the market specs at the most competitive price. It is priced at $349 internationally and INR 28,999/- in India when it is set to release soon. But with this price, Google did scamper somewhere to balance it all out and that resulted in a smaller battery in the device compared to other flagships in the market.

So to check out how the battery of the Google Nexus 5 performs, we made it go through a battery test by performing various tasks on it to check out how great the battery lasts. But before that so that you all know, the battery on the Nexus 5 is a 2300 mAh which on paper does not look that bad, but with the high power hungry specs of the phone and the Full HD 1080p display, it does get hard to keep the phone up and running for long.

Another point to be noted here is that the device before starting the test has been fully charged to 100% and the battery has been through the breakdown period. So the battery efficiency is at its highest. Also the screen brightness was kept on Auto so the ambient sensor had adjusted the brightness perfectly and we were indoors with not much light, hence the brightness was on a lower side.

Google LG Nexus 5

Gaming Test:

For this test we decided on some medium heavy to heavy games which are the popular titles and we chose Subway Surfers, Asphalt 8, Dead Trigger and Fifa 2014 to play on this and we played each game for half an hour exact continuously non-stop without even quitting any game or putting the phone on sleep even for a second. So the screen also has been on the entire time. While playing of course this device has the best gaming performance, so we thoroughly enjoyed our time but our battery reached 1% in 4 hours and 56 mins. So we had run to the charger very quickly in the short time and so we were not much impressed here.

Surfing Test:

Secondly we went on to the web searching for anything that would amaze us. Since due to technicalities there was no 4G connection available so we were able to test it only on Wi-Fi. So we connected to the Wi-Fi here and started surfing the web from Google to checking mails, to browsing FB, twitter, etc. checked out deals on eBay, used Wikipedia continuously without any break again and our battery reached 1% in 8 hours and 12 mins. This seemed pretty apt and was quite cool.

Chatting Test:

Then we went on to the chatting test, again we were online on all chatting apps like BBM, Whatsapp, WeChat, Line, Hike, FB Messenger and our ol’ SMS. We were continuously chatting on the phone non-stop and our battery reached 1% in a matter of only 7 hours. We were not taking any breaks, typing ling messages and using Mobile Data and not Wi-Fi. So overall it is fine if you are chatting with breaks, this phone can last you easily for a day.

Multimedia Test:

This was a very important test as we use our phones for a lot of videos and music. As for the video playback, the battery lasted us for 10 hours which was pretty cool. As for the music playback, the phone lasted for complete 125 hours and some minutes ahead until the phone went dead due to no more juice in it. So overall we were pretty impressed with the multimedia handling of the battery.

Voice Calls Test:

This was a very important test because this is exactly what the cell phones were made for in the first place. As for the calling test we were at a location with a full network and on 3G coverage and we made calls to various people talking to them catching up with friends to see how long the battery would last. Google has claimed the battery to last for 17 hours, but for us it lasted only 14 hours and 44 minutes which is not that bad since we are going to talk for this long in a single day at a stretch.

So all in all our conclusion is that the battery on this device is quite small compared to what others are offering in their flagships, but for the price it is a great device with quite mediocre battery with some smart use and battery saving techniques can make it last for a single day with medium use. Though you will always be running for a charger after a 12 hours day that is for sure, so unless you are ready to compromise on the battery, the LG Google Nexus 5 is the device for you.

Google released the Nexus 5 recently and apparently within the first day itself, they are out of stock. Now this is amazing news for Google and LG, but it is a very bad news for all the competitors like Samsung who holds the market share for smartphones. Samsung too has introduced an amazing device in the market with similar specs as that of the Nexus 5, so it is quite fair to pitch both these devices against one another. So we are pitching the LG Nexus 5 against the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and see which one comes out on top.

Complete comparison between Galaxy Note 3 and Nexus 5

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Vs. Google LG Nexus 5

Design and Looks:
The Nexus 5 looks pretty similar to the previous version, the Nexus 4 with some minute differences like the new ear piece on the device and ofcourse many others inside the body, but we will come to that later. The Galaxy Note 3 on the other hand has some new design from its previous Note 2. For starters it has finally gotten rid of the cheap plastic back cover and changed it with fake leather back with faux stitching around its border. It is also available in many new colours including pink whereas the Nexus 5 is available in only black and white colours.

Coming to the display, both the phones sport a Full HD display. Just the Note 3 has a 5.7” Super AMOLED display with 1920×1080 resolution @ 386 ppi. On the other hand the Nexus 5 has a 4.97” IPS LCD display with 1920×1080 resolution @ 445 ppi. the Nexus 5 has got greater pixel density here which is awesome compared to the Note 3, but still again the Note 3 has a bigger screen, so both have their own advantages.

This is where both these phones are pretty evenly matched. Both the devices are running on the Snapdragon 800 quad core clocked at 2.2 GHz for the Note 3 and 2.3 GHz for the Nexus 5. Both are coupled to the Adreno 330 GPU which is really cool. So you really need not worry so much about the performance of both the devices.

Operating System:
The Nexus 5 comes with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box which is great while the Note 3 comes with Android 4.3 JellyBean but is upgradable to 4.4 KitKat. Now the only question remains is that Note 3 will get its update whenever Samsung gets in the mood to push it, so when is Samsung going to get that? Samsung will also be releasing it with then TouchWiz UI overlay, so that is for sure going to take some time.

Storage capacity and Main memory:
The Nexus 5 comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16/32 GB versions and does not have a memory card slot which is one disappointment from Nexus. The Note 3 on the other hand comes with 3 GB of RAM and 16/32/64 GB variants along with an expandable memory slot upto 64 GB. So in this case the Note 3 stands on top of the Nexus 5. Another main thing here is that since the Note 3 runs the TouchWiz UI, it requires more amount of RAM for smooth functioning; hence the 3 GB in the Note 3.

The camera on the Galaxy Note 3 is a 13 MP snapper on the back which is really amazing. It can shoot amazing photos and videos and also some great low light images as well. Also this is maybe the only camera after the Galaxy S4 to capture 4K videos at 30 fps and 1080p videos at 60 fps. Though the OIS is absent on the Note 3, it is present on the new Nexus 5 which has an 8 MP snapper at the back that can shoot good snaps and also capture 1080p videos at 30 fps. Both the cameras have front facing cameras as well; the Note 3 has a 2 MP camera while the Nexus 5 has a 1.3 MP.

Now when it comes to features, the Note 3 has an upper hand here as it has many unique features like the ones present on the Galaxy S4. Apart from those Galaxy features, the Note 3 contains S Pen support which is a stylus support where you can divide the screen in half and enjoy multitasking. Also open an app in an app by just drawing a box, and also do many more such stuff. The Nexus 5 on the other hand has got Wireless charging built in as well as the new Google cloud service which will not allow you for seamless sync all your devices just the iCloud for Apple.

On the battery front, the Note 3 has a bigger size hence allowing for a bigger battery to fit in it. It has a 3200 mAh battery, but it also has a big screen and that too a Super AMOLED to run which is a huge battery guzzler. Hence for that also for rest of the stuff, the battery can last easily for upto 20 hours. As for the Nexus 5, the phone has a 2300 mAh battery which can power the phone for upto 17 hours which is not bad at all. So all in all, the Note has a battery advantage but the Nexus is not at all far behind.

We pitched the latest two flagship Androids, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the LG Google Nexus 5 we found out that even though with all the amazing things that the Note 3 has to offer, the Nexus 5 has been priced just way too competitively at just INR 28,999/- for the 16 GB version and INR 32,999/- for the 32 GB version. The Note 3 on the other hand is priced INR 48,000/- for the 16 GB version. So now we all know which one we are going to be choosing after all. You all feel free to comment down below if you will go for the Galaxy Note 3 or the Nexus 5 considering everything as well as the price point.
