Samsung is known to dash out some amazing high end phones, and its current flagship Phablet is another testament to it. With killer specs, this Phablet is a true powerhouse. But that is not all as Samsung had packed it full with amazing features which we are going to cover in this review of the phone. If it is the Phablet to go to or does it falter somewhere, let’s find out in the review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Design and Looks:
Samsung finally seems to have come to their senses when they got rid of the cheap looking plastic back body and decided on the false leather back with the fake stitching design along its border. This gives the Phablet a whole new look and feel to it. Else you would always feel like holding the same phone; then be it the Grand or S4. Though Samsung still has kept the front look of the home button and 2 capacitive buttons on either side of it. It has the camera on the back, the volume rocker on the left and the power button on the right. It weighs in at 168 g which is way lighter than its previous Note 2, also considering that this is a bigger sized phone, it’s quite impressive.

Display:
Finally the Note Series got a 1080p Full HD Super AMOLED display. It is on a 5.7” display which is again 0.2” bigger than the Note 2. It has the Gorilla Glass protection and also comes with a super sensitive touch option which allows you to use it with gloves on. Also it is compatible with its S-Pen Stylus which comes with the phone.

Performance:
The phone comes in multiple variants that is in a 2.3 GHz Quad Core Krait 400 processor with Snapdragon 800 chipset or Quad core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A15 & Quad core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 combined Octa core processor with the Samsung Exynos chipset. This is coupled to the Adreno 330 GPU for the Snapdragon variant and Mali-T628 MP6 GPU for the Exynos variant. This shows what a great powerhouse is this device and is capable of handling heavy apps, multitasking, etc. with perfect ease.

Operating System:
The Phablet runs on Android 4.3 JellyBean with the Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI overlay. It also is capable for the Android 4.4 KitKat update which it will get soon when KitKat launches and Samsung customizes and pushes it to the device. Also Android’s app base we all know about which is completely loaded.

Storage capacity and Main memory:
The Phablet has 3 GB of RAM and comes in 16/32/64 GB internal storage options. Add to that an expandable memory card slot capable up to 64 GB and you can be 100% sure that whatever happens, you will never fall short of storage space.

Camera:
The camera on the phone is the best camera second to only the Lumia 1020’s 41 MP snapper. It has a 13 MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization and can shoot Ultra HD videos of 2160p at 30 fps and 1080p HD videos at 60 fps. You won’t be able to find a phone capable to do this anytime soon. Its camera is completely loaded with features with many-many settings to get the perfect shot you need. It can also take good low light images but still not as great as the Lumia. It has a 2MP front camera capable of 1080p videos at 30 fps for HD video calling and self-shots which are very widely used these days.

Features:
When it comes to the features of the flagship Samsung Galaxy series of phones, you just cannot even count them on your fingers. So let’s check out the best ones of them. It has the usual Air View, Smart Scroll, etc. from the Galaxy S4. Also some new features in this is the multi-window feature where you can divide the screen into two and run two different applications at the same time simultaneously. There is also the App in App feature where if you are using an app, you can pause that and open another app inside it like maybe the calendar app or calculator app. When you are using the stylus, then there are other various menus that open up with which you can open the app by just drawing a square box around its launcher in the menu. Also when you are browsing, you can select the required area by drawing a square around it and then copying it, make necessary changes and save it. Also it has got the Dropbox integration which allows you to save your work on the cloud as well.

Conclusion:
We reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on the basis of various parameters and we have reached a conclusion. This is an amazing Phablet with the best ever specs running under it till date. With its large Full HD display, amazing battery life and the myriad of Samsung features and also the Stylus support make the Phablet worth its while. It has both business as well as personal applications and with the Android OS running on it, you will never be short of any entertainment thanks to the Google Play App store. It does cost a bit steep, but if you are that loaded, then there is actually no harm in going for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
