Installation guide forA�CyanogenMod 11 on LG Optimus G E975
The following step-by-step tutorial will help you to upgrade your LG Oprimus G E975 from stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean to Android 4.4 KitKat. We assume that you already have Root Access and Custom Recovery on your phone, it would take you almost no effort at all to upgrade to Android 4.4 with CyanogenMod 11.
The following tutorial should only be used for this specific model, including the European version of the LG Optimus G E975 devices, which has Android 4.1.2. We take no responsibility if any damage is done to your phone throughout the process. Before you start: make sure that your battery has at least 70% charge.
That being said, leta��s get into the thick of things:
Step 1 a�� Back up all your important data. We dona��t want anything disappearing by accident.
Step 2 a�� Enable USB Debugging on your phone.
Step 3 a�� Download CyanogenMod11 Nightly Build For LG Optimus G and GApps package for Android 4.4 KitKat Custom ROMs. These are all you need to finish the job. The CyanogenMod 11 file can be downloaded from here, and the GApps pack can be found here. Before you proceed make sure you are downloading the Mod designed for your device. Every device has ita��s own build designed specifically for that phone.
Step 4 a�� Connect your phone to your computer. Copy the files to either your internal or external storage units. Any place will do.
Step 5 a�� Disconnect your phone.
Step 6 a�� Reboot your phone to Custom Recovery mode. To do this, simply press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons. When you spot the fastboot screen, press Volume Down twice and finish off with the Power button, and you will boot recovery.
Step 7 a�� Do a Nandroid Backup. If you mess things up, or simply are not satisfied with the upgrade, you can go back to using your current ROM.
Step 8 a�� Once Recovery mode booted, ita��s time for the magic to happen: choose a�?Install Zip from SanDisk Carda��, then navigate to where you copied the two zip files earlier. Choose CyanogenMod 11 and confirm flash.
Step 9 a�� When ita��s done, do the same thing with your second file, the Gapps package. This will put Google Play Store and other applications on your phone.
Step 10 a�� After youa��ve finished, simply go to the main menu, and Reboot your system.
Step 11 a�� Rejoyce! You now have Android 4.4 KitKat on your LG Optimus G. Simple as that. Time to hit the town and show it off!
