Cell phone is developing really rapidly now with the growth in the field of technology and we find a new flagship model better than the previous one coming out every year. It has that bump up of better specs, better display and new features. It is totally like living in the future, amazing gizmos and the works. In all that, two biggest players in the field, Samsung and Apple are both scheduled to release their new phone, the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the iPhone 6 respectively. Though we don’t have any official specs yet, but on the basis of rumours and information from our sources, it seems to be an interesting task to check out which of these phones might turn out to be a better proposition.
Apple iPhone 6:
We have been having a lot of expectations from Apple this time around for the iPhone 6. We are all bored with the design element of the phone and are looking for something new and hopefully this time around Apple delivers. According to reports that we have received from various sources, the iPhone 6 apparently is going to sport a bigger display of 4.7-4.8”. If these rumours are to be believed, then that means the new iPhone will be sporting a much better 1080p display which is a much better upgrade to the previous less than 720p HD display. Also the screen aspect ratio is expected to be a standard and not the tall display.
Apart from that, there have been reports that Apple might completely get rid of the home button and make the UI fluid and completely gesture based, but then it is just speculation. The fingerprint scanner though is here to stay, no complaints about that. The camera also should be an OIS supporting 12-16 MP snapper which means better imaging capability. Apart from that, support for faster bandwidths, radio and Bluetooth means a better communication experience.
Big expected news is the new A8 processor which we are expecting Quad Core and more than 1 GB of RAM. This entire horsepower under the hood of the iPhone 6 means better multitasking and very easy handling of the numerous apps. We never had any complaints with iOS except that it has slowly become quite monotonous except for the graphical changes in it which has made it all glassy. Overall the new iPhone 6 looks very promising but it is to be soon how it will fare when out against the Samsung Galaxy S5.
Samsung Galaxy S5:
Rumours for this phone have been doing the rounds since a long time and finally we have some specs of this device which are almost official let’s say. For starters, it will be sporting a 5.24” 2K resolution QHD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels at 561ppi which is like amazingly awesome. Imagine pixel density so high that playing even Blu-ray content on this device is sure going to be a total breeze. On the memory front the device will be packing in 64 GB of storage on board and then some in the form of expandable storage of another 64 GB. RAM on this device will be 3 GB and it will be available even in a 32 GB variant.
Gorilla glass 3, Higher LTE bandwidth support, Bluetooth, NFC, hopefully Wireless charging and Dual band Wi-Fi is also something more that will arrive in this device. The camera on this device will be a 16 MP snapper with amazing imaging quality and Full HD as well as Ultra HD video capturing capabilities. Also a front camera of 3.2 MP capable of Full HD display is expected. Other than all this, the presence of Google services and Android apps make this a much better device.
And now coming to the hardware specs, a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor which will be approximately clocked at 2.5 GHz, Quad core processor and some markets will also get the Exynos Octa core processor and Android 4.4.2 version with the TouchWiz UI make this device a really awesome and power packed one. The new TouchWiz UI is also much better than older versions with fluid gestures and the works. So all in all, considering everything the Galaxy S5 is totally a powerhouse to reckon with. The 3200 mAh battery though with the Super AMOLED display is not really expected to last that long. If you are lucky, then maybe you will be able to squeeze in about a day’s battery, but that only time will tell.
So Who is Better?
We have discussed both phones’ specs above and if you understand a little bit about it all, then you can easily tell that the Galaxy S5 is the best between the two if the price is right. The Android powered beast has been always a generation ahead of all others and this is another proof of it all. Also the iPhones are always priced at a really high value being a premium product but still the value for money offering of the Galaxy S5 being really high, and the better specs and feel of everything, it is no surprise that people will definitely prefer going for the Samsung Galaxy S5 over the iPhone 6 any day. If I was supposed to be spending my hard earned money, then it will always be the Galaxy S5, else if you are giving me infinite budget and asking me, then I might just get them both. 😉
