Qualcomm’s New Dragon Seen Puffing on Antutu at 2.5GHZ

A new magical Qualcomm snapdragon is appeared to be seen on the Antutu synthetic app and gives all the hint of what is to come next in high-end smart phones and tablets. The chip bears the codename as APQ8084. It has a capacity of 2.5GHz clock speed. That makes it 200MHz more than the current maximum quad-core snapdragon 800-it gives a speed of 2.3Ghz.The new chip is named as a quad core one, but it is not clear whether we are talking about krait 400 processing in the top shelf or the newer modification.Another interesting shocking feature is the Adreno 420 graphical processing unit (GPU). It is expected to run at a higher speeds than current adreno chips , achieving a speed of 500MHz. The new Adreno XXX series are expected to add support to Directx11 and WebGL 2.0 graphical standards. Looking at the current pure performance, the new Adreno 420 should get a 10% kick in pixel fill rate than the Adreno 330.

Snap Dragon 800

There are a few expected changes to happen in this new chip , and amongst all the most important one is support for 64-bit DDR3 memory bandwidth. However, the chip is expected to run on 32-bit architecture and not one like the 64-bit like the newest Apple A7.

Earlier this year, the chips roadmap leaked out and it seems now the testing obviously of APQ8084,the chipmaker is on the roadmap plans. The release of Qualcomm APQ8084 is expected to happen in the first half of 2014 and it might end up as the next years leading smart phones.
