We all know that Samsung is well known for their AMOLED industry but there are also a few more industries which are manufacturing organic LED technology. There are some competitors from Taiwan and China which are doing well in AMOLED industry and making good quality AMOLED screen for mobile phones. They are giving tough competition to Samsung and they are doing better in some areas as compared to Korean giant Samsung.
Samsung is already doing well with their AMOLED screen but now AU Optronics, a Taiwan based company has recently announced Quad HD (WQHD) AMOLED panels for smartphones. This is industry’s first Quad HD (WQHD) AMOLED panel. It covers 2,560 x 1,440 pixels resolution on a 5.7-inch display screen and it leads to give you 513 ppi density. So far, we have seen highest density of 440 ppi on AMOLED panel with Samsung Galaxy S4 but AU Optronics has broken this figure with 513 ppi density.
Quad HD (WQHD) AMOLED panels is one of its kind. This new Quad HD (WQHD) AMOLED panels was displayed by AU Optronics at display expo held in Shenzhen. They have not mentioned anything that when will it be available in market. We have already seen some of the Quad HD LCD devices like Oppo Find 7 and the Vivo Xplay 3. We expect that they will reveal some more information about their Quad HD (WQHD) AMOLED panels soon.
