Download and Install Blackberry Messenger (BBM) for Android and iOS

After a long and gruesome wait for some, Blackberry announced that they have finally launched the BBM service for Android and iOS officially. The top story though is that the most sought after messaging service in the world at a point of time, has been removed off its exclusivity due to the issues with the company which it seems is out for a takeover soon. So the messenger service of the company was developed for the other top operating systems ruling the market i.e. Googleas Android and Appleas iOS.

BlackBerry Messenger

Earlier there was a beta version that had released on a trial basis for a couple of weeks which the users were able to download from a link and use it as an experiment to check how the build was performing. Later the build was crashed and the bugs were fixed in the current version. The Android BBM does no quite display the version number. The iOS version is the BBM version and is very much up and running.

The BBM for Android is compatible with Android 4.0 and up whereas BBM for iOS is compatible with iOS 6.0 and above and has also been optimized for iPhone 5. Downloading and installing BBM on your phone is a very simple task. Now that it is available in the respective App Stores, it is now a childas play.

BBM earlier was an exclusive Blackberry instant messenger service similar to Whatsapp. Though Whatsapp is available as a cross-platform app, Blackberry recently has gone cross-platform by launching BBM for Android and iOS. This is a huge step on the Blackberryas part considering the dire condition the company is currently in. But that does not make BBM any bad.

BBM has some really amazing features that made it the leader in Instant messaging services. With BBM you can send text messages, Voice Messages, Images, Videos, Audio, etc. Apart from that, you can also share your location, create groups and also send lots of emoticons which are on offer. Also the newer version of BBM allows adding contacts using QR codes, NFC tagging and also by sharing PINs.

All in all, BBM messenger is undoubtedly one of the best instant messaging services out there and now that it has moved into cross-platform, it has nowhere to go but up. Now that it has been released for Android and iOS, letas hope that it gets launched for Windows Phone as well and provide some real tough competition to other cross-platform messenger services as well.
